Best exhaust for m5?

Just bought an M5, please recommend the best deep throaty most effective full setup. If you have any info on Intake systems too that would be helpful. thanks

No doubt about it....the best of the best is RPI (Race Precision Incorporated). You can click on their link at the top of this page since they are sponsors. I, and many other board members have their dyno proven exhausts on our M5s. Pair the exhaust with their pulley, ram air scoops, block-off plates, and BMC filters for some addiitonal HP gains and then go all the way with the headers!!!
Your car will sound better and out perform all of the other aftermarket systems out there!

"Best" is a subjective and relative term.

Best construction? Probably Meisterschaft or Kreisseg
Best sound? Probably Eisenmann or Kreisseg
Best HP gains? Probably RPI or Active AutoWerke
Best price? Probably Active AutoWerke or REMUS
Best prestige? Probably AC Schnitzer or Dixis

You get the idea. For a good throaty sound, go with Eisenmann or Meisterschaft in my experience.

If price is not an issue, look at kreissieg.

You can't go wrong with RPI or Eisenmann. They seem to have a great rep on the board

I have no experience with RPI (Yet, looking at scoops and block off plates), but they are obviously highly regarded.

I can tell you I love the sound of my Eisenmann. Amazing! Ultimately, try to find someone close by and hear them for yourself before buying. Sound is subjective. The only opinion that matters is yours. (Quality is not, stick to those with a proven track record)

HI like RPI and AC Scnitzer

I have heard Dinan and RPI in person and really like them. However, from what i have seen on Youtube I like the AC Schnitzer a lot. I like the Meishtersaft too but would want to hear one in person. I dont want something too loud, but want a more aggressive tone without a lot of drone.

I like the fact that RPI has a stage 3. It sounds nice, but is not too loud. As I am not reallylooking for HP gains ( 507 is enough for me) and theya re hear in socal, I am strongly considering putting their stage 3 on my 08 E60.

If you want your exhaust to sound like warring dragons, get the Kelleners. If you want your exhaust to sound like screaming demons from the bowels of hell, get the Meisterschaft. I am probably the only person that has upgraded from the Kelleners to the Meisterschaft. It is like comparing the sound of a Category 4 hurricane to the sound of a Category 5 hurricane.

(Can you tell this is entirely subjective?)

I love my exhaust and would never change it.

No there is no drone at cruising altitude....
