Hi Guys....
Just coming up to doing 500 miles in my E39 M5 and had some questions - hoping that you guys may have some of the answers....
1. I know that VANOS are supposed to be expensive to change and although the engine has only 59k and seems to idle without to much clatter - i was trying to understand, how these 'go'
i.e. what can i do to avoid this kind of problem.
2. the clutch is light enough, however i am struggling to change gear - as smooth and as quick as i would like. Also the change on the box seems to be quite long, i.e it seems to take a while to go through the process of lifting off the gas, steping down on the clutch, engaging the gear.
3. i felt the DSC come into play a couple of times already, however just wondering how much the system allows the car to slip before it intervenes - its seems quite conservative in that respect, but not brave enough to switch it off.
Thanks guys....i got loads more - but dont want to bombard the forum!
