Yesterday we did some more work on the M3...

* started installing the steal rear brake lines. Didn't fit, so put the stock lines back on. I guess I got the wrong lines. They are about 10 cm too long...
* we made sure there are no rattles or strange noises while driving hard:
- mounted battery (was loose...)
- attached jack with zip ties
- made sure the spare wheel has no room to move
- some other minor stuff
* widened the rear fenders, so there is no more tire rubbing (was needed because of the spacers...).

Did a test drive, and there are no unwanted noises anymore...

Only a few minor things to do until the car is ready for the Ring trip on Sunday.

After work, I'll go to Holland with a friend, to check out an E36 M3. He can hardly wait to get a Ringtoy too

Last week he was talking about buying an M3 around newyear. This week he has already checked out 3 M3s

He has a different approach however, he is buying a car for his girlfriend (the M3). And every now and then, she can take his car, so he can take hers to go to the Ring.

Ok, the first Ring trip is a fact!

The weather s*cked big time. It was raining all day (we left at 18:00, and after that, no more rain ofcourse...)
So there I was, the first time on the Ring without DSC, in the pooring rain. I did 8 laps, without any issue. Didn't measure lap times, would've been bad anyway, because of the rain. I must say that I was totally impressed by the car. Much more grip than I expected (could easily rev up to 7000 rpm in second gear without going sideways), the car was very steady in the rain. I think in the total of 8 laps, there were 5 moments were the rear end broke slightly loose, but only very minor, and I felt it from the moment it begun. Easy to correct...
No issues with heating, no issues with brakes (Ok, it wasn't hot, and we didn't go very fast, but anyway, nice to have a troublefree first Ringday), no issues with rattling sounds, no issues with tire rubbing, no issues whatsoever!

I was planning to go to the Ring again on Friday August 24th, and possibly also Sunday 26th. When is your next trip planned?

By the way, the other E36 M3 GT (Swiss plates I believe, the one with the yellow line on the black wheels), was there yesterday, and was driving on semi slicks... And he passed me... Still a long way to go

I may be able to go on the 26th... at least Im planing my next trip then, but I also have another thing I have to do that Sunday so we will see.

Lets try to find some Camber plates Fritz, I need them, there is some rubbing in the front when using the Semislicks. A touch of negative camber would both fix that and add some traction.
