There is an issue with the wheels... Actually with the tires. I'm running coilovers, and the tire hits the spring at front. I've added a 5mm spacer, which gives me about 4mm clearance. So I only need 1 or 2mm extra space. The problem is the width of the tyre right next to the wheel. The tire is a bit wider close to the wheel, to prevent curb rash.
I saw the exact same combination on an M3 at the Ring. Coilovers, BBS CH 8,5*17 ET 38, 235/40/17 tires, no spacer. But that guy was running different tires. These tires had no wheel protection.
Now, to the experts, what are the consequences of running a 10mm spacer on all 4 corners? My front fenders are a bit wider than stock, so that shouldn't be a problem (although it will be close). But what are the consequences for handling?
Im not sure if it will help... but I am running H&R coilovers 235/40-18 tires and BBS CH 8.5" wide wheel and it clears.. maybe becouse the toyos dont have the curb prodection...
Anyway.. if you need to get rid of the 18" wheels.. I will buy them from you.
The M3 I saw with the 17" BBS CH wheels and coilovers was running Toyo tires...
Anyway, I ordered a set of 4 spacers, can pick them up in the evening. In the meantime, I 'solved' the problem bij turning the coilovers a bit higher. Now it fits without spacers, but it looks like ***
The 18" wheels are sold already. They were poor quality and bent...
Doors are installed, mirrors, rear bumper, the front is complete.
