I managed 10 laps today. My TC Kline suspension knocked off an average 45 seconds from my BTG time and it's still not quite set-up perfectly yet. With new brakes pads, fluid and SS lines, my brakes are not up to the job. I will now look for some altenatives. I don't want to change too much. I have a good tool and now it's time to focus more on my driving skills.

Overall a great day with little traffic. I met some new friends which makes in nice when your girl doesn't want to join in the fun.

Are you running stock brake pads? Different brake pads make a pretty big difference...

No, I'm running Ferodo 2500s. They still are a street pad, but I need to go with a full race pad I think. I might put something different in on Sunday assuming I go. I'm thinking of going with Carbopads RS version or some Pagid yellows.

I will say the Motul 600 fluid made a huge difference with the SS lines. The pedal feel was great, but the pads faded into 1.5 laps. I only managed an 8:40 BTG. I still have some tweaks to make to the suspension and alignment, but overall I was happy with the improvement with TC Kline suspension although it will likely get switched out to a custom and fully race setup made by H&R with the help of Uwe at Ringracing. My TC Kline (Koni) has no helper springs and when they come off the lower hat, they make one hell of a startling sound when they re-seat on the compression!

Frits,

Enjoyed out chat today - - was funny you descibing RussRamz Z4 and then he drove right next to me at that moment...

'Ring was AWESOME today, perfect weather, tons of cars. some unique ones, including some US Mustangs driven by Brits- like a new Shelby GT500 and a few more new custom Mustangs...

Anyway, put the beast on the ring, need to do something about my brake shudder as mentioned. I'll need to scour the sites now and see if anyone took my pic

Have fun on Tuesday...

Mark, Frits,

Great day yestereday. I brought the entire family with me after my daughter said she wanted to go. I even drove our W8 Passat Wagon (Estate) around with the entire family. It sure was funny passing a Miata, a new Mustang and a old muscle car Camaro with the wife and kids!

The Z4 performed well. I still have some suspension tweaks to take care of, but it's a solid 8:30 BTG car at this point. I'm looking to get rid of some understeer with either a beefier anti-roll bar up front and a set of 12mm spacers. Oh yea, need new brakes too! I'm going to start with going straight to a race compound instead of an occasional track day compound in my Ferodo 2500's. The Ferodo's are thrashed!

Keep me posted with your next plans for a trip to the ring and I'll see what I can do!

Russ, go for a big brake kit at once. It's not that expensive, and all your problems are gone immediately. For about 2000 euros, you should be able to find a big brake kit, front only.

Not decided when the next trip will be. I'll have a look at the Ring schedule for next month, combined with the lady's working schedule for next month, and pick a date. I'll let you guys know. It'll be a week day
