I'm going for a next set of mods in the winter:
* bucket seats (still don't know which, I'm rather skinny, and I want a tight fit)
* remove the complete interior
* close sunroof
* cage
* extra wheels with semi-slicks
I'm not sure if I'll have the budget to do it, I'm working on another 'project', and I need loads of cash for that.
By the way, I don't know if removing that sunroof is allowed or not... I think it is OK if I make sure there are no sharp objects in the interior.
I've been reading this with interest. I love the Alpine white on the M3 especially with the black trim colour coded too, moderises the car completely.
I have just bought a 3.0 M3 to turn into a track toy...it just happens to be Alpine White as well but price/condition were the top priorities. It's a '93 with no toys to sap the power. It's done 145k miles but the engine runs really sweet (better than my old Z3M with a quarter of the miles!) and there are no oil leaks at all.
I have done a deal on some AP 4 pots and 330mm discs and they are waiting to go on. I also have some spare brand new 235/40R17 R888's to go on after the new T1-R's that came on the car wear out (or on some different wheels).
I also have some rear camber arms from New Zealand to go on with the suspension (steel but half the price of alloy ones and not a lot different in weight).
Also on the list I need to get:
Coilovers, looking at AST's at the moment with adjustable top mounts
Front and rear ARB's
Strut braces and front lower X brace (off of the cabrio).
Frits,
Don't any of the standard 7.5" M Sport wheels clear the AP's? I was looking for new wheels anyway and I love the look of those BBS CH wheels, they really suit the car in white and a lot lighter than the stock wheels!
Also where did you get the Intrax camber plates from for such a good price? Drop me a pm if you don't want to say on here.
I took a day off on Wednesday, and went to the Ring.
I took it easy for the first few laps, just to feel what the differences with the camber plates are. First thing I noticed, on the way to the Ring, was that the car feels a little less steady at high speeds. Anyway, nothing to worry about, but it felt more steady before the plates...
Have you considered increasing the toe-in on the rear wheels? Maybe add some downforce through a spoiler on the boot?

@///Mster: I didn't test all of the different M wheels. I didn't test the wheels that were on Fart's GT for example. The 'contour' wheels didn't clear the brakes, and neither did the ones with 'BMW Motorsport' and a lot of spokes.
I got the camber plates from a local shop: Rally Shop, in Diest, Belgium. Not sure if they are the Intrax plates (no brand mentioned), but they look the same (different colors though).
Great choice picking a car without options! Mine has no options either. No alarm system, no remote, no airco, no radio, nothing...
Did you start a thread about your project? I'm interested!
@Russ: the toe on the rear wheels is 1°, with the wheels looking like this: \ / if the car would ride upwards on your screen. That would make sure the wheels are perfectly straight under acceleration. How would you do it? I'm still learning about camber/caster/toe, so all input is appreciated.
I've been thinking about a spoiler, and a have an OEM GT spoiler laying around somewhere. But I really like the look of the coupe without any spoilers, and I only want to put a spoiler on if I really really really need it.
I'm used to the current feel now, and have no issues with it. Maybe I'll change my mind later on.
