Yesterday I went to http://www.ddtuning.nl to bring in an E46 M3 steering wheel. They will adapt it, so it fits in my M3. They also have an adapted airbag, that has the E36 connection, and fits the E46 steering wheel. I hope to have the steering wheel back in 2 weeks, and then I can bring it to another shop, to have it trimmed in alcantara. I can't wait to have the final steering wheel installed!
And I found a shop that sells the Intrax camber plates, for 155 euro's per side. Fart and I have a set on order
About the helmet... I have the vader seats on the lowest position too. I don't want to put in other seats, I just love the vader seats. There is a backup solution, but it is a rather serious mod... I could disassemble the sunroof, mount the painted part of the sunroof fixed into the roof, and install the headliner of a non-sunroof car. That solves the problem, but completely eliminates all advantages of the sunroof... My car has no airco...
Regarding helmet and seats, my car also has the sunroof and Im 185cm high which means that I hit my head against the roof even with the seat in the lowest position.
Im going for different seats, with the semislicks installed the Vaders are having a hard time keeping up with the g-forces.
Did a few more Ring trips with the M3. Great car!! Great great great! I wonder what I have ever been doing there with the M5... And the PS2's rock! I even managed to pass a Scooby on semi slicks (and I'm really not a good driver yet).
As for the camber plates... We got the wrong plates, but the right stuff should be here very soon.
I bought a used CSL steering wheel. It is now at the leather shop to have it retrimmed, and then it will be adapted for the E36. The other E46 M3 steering wheel will go in the E39 touring...
And the car is at another shop for the ///M stripes right now. I can get it back on Thursday. I'll post a few pictures when it's back.
Last week, I went to Power-Plus, for the software change. He had a few different programs for the S50B30 engine, and installed the most aggressive one (I wouldn't want any other program). When he was putting the ECU back in its place, he asked if I would mind a little more fuel consumption. Mmm, not really, if it makes the car faster?
Ok, then the Vanos computer will be flashed too. The car is now constantly in 'ready-to-attack-mode', and I love it!
It's a complete different car now. It is more smooth to drive at all rpms, it is a lot stronger at lower rpms.
Below are some pictures from the last Ring trip, August 24th.
