At first I was unsure on a couple of the exterior fixtures, ie. side mirrors and hood vents, but they have grown on me fast. I think this one is going to send alot of the 335i'ers back to the dealer for a trade-up, no matter what type of power gains they get on those turbos... BMW did a great job at making this one stand out from the regular cars.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems to me that people are confusing the use of the word "power" here. In the E39 M5 the "sport" button changes throttle mapping, but not horsepower. In the E60/63 M5/6 the power button changes power from 400HP to 500HP. In the new E92 M3 the power button changes mapping, not horsepower. 420HP is always instantly on tap regardless of mapping, so what's the big deal? All the mapping does is change throttle response between grocery getter and track maps - how can this be bad? I like the mapping in the E39 M5 and I'm sure I'll like it in the new M3.

Assumption I guess:
P400 /P500 on M5, P320/420 on M3.
100 BHP difference on the button.
But it may not be like that at all.

Wanna hear the V8?

If you do you might try this link. It is downloadable but it's an MP3 file which sadly cannot be posted here....

Wouldn't a sport button be labelled "Sport" instead of Power a la E39 and E46 Ms? Doesn't really matter, though. We'll all know in a few long months.

OPINION WARNING

!! OPINION WARNING !!

Can't see these pictures without commenting....
This car has so much tension in the design it is difficult for me to look at the pictures !....the whole car is an afterthought

- every part seems like it was designed by another designer
- that front bulge on the hood looks like a horn from a rhinocerous
- the rear exhaust sticks out below like the car is wearing diapers or something else that needs to be wiped
- the air intakes in the front air dam make the car look like it is pouting

the only things I like :
- the "exhaust vent" with the m3 insginia on the front fenders (gorgeous)
- the wheels (are perfect for this car!)
- and the mirrors are "interesting"

--> It's a shame because the 3 series coupe is arguably the cleanest design from bmw out now.
