4 litre V8
420 bhp / 8300 rpm
max 8400 rpm
400 Nm at 3900 rpm
340 Nm at 2000 rpm
comp 12:1
engine weight 202 kg


# 26 lb heavier than 335i engine!
# 84 lb lighter than M5 S85
# 15 kg less than the M3 E46 engine

Also add 420bhp = 360Nm at 8300rpm.

Thats quite a spread

  • Improved engine expensive equipment MSS60 coordinates optimally all engine functions with the different vehicle tax devices.

Wow! Now that's a damn motor! Seems similar to the RS4 v8. Love it especially the mani and throttle bodies! ! JEEZUS!

how much TQ are they talking about Ftlbs,and will it have a manual tranny as well?

295 foot pounds / 414 hp and 8400 redline..... this is going to need a 7 speed like the M5 / M6 to take advantage of the revs and "low" torque....

It has a much flatter torque curve than the M5 / M6 V10, while keeping the same bore + stroke as the V10 so BMW has done their work....

Mmmmmm Looks like modding the 335i is gonna give the M3 all sorts of problems. I think BMW needs to up the displacment as the next upgrade after this motor. I think the E39 M5 motor would have been a better look based on the TQ and HP#'s. That motor should be able to rev up to at least 8k no?

You better believe that motor is gonna need the 7spd tranny.
