M6 Baby Brother - 335xi Sedan - Was Car Suggestions
Guys,

I am posting here since the Car Suggestions was on this forum....tonight, I ordered my 2007 335xi to replace my aging Audi A6 4.2......

Sparkling Graphite / Black Leather / Titanium Matte finish

Some surprises looks like the 335xi's are faster than the RWD versions...

The premium for 335xi sedan over the regular 335i sedan was $2600 CAD (Base for the 335xi is $52,500). Performance is better than the 335i sedan.
  • 335i Sedan Weight (kg) / 0-100 km/h: 1630 kg / 5.7 seconds
  • 335xi Sedan Weight (kg) / 0-100 km/h: 1730 kg / 5.6 seconds
I loaded my car with:
  • Sports Package ZKM $2000: Sports Suspension, 18" Ellipsoid wheels, Performance Run Flats 225/40/18F, 255/35/18, Electrically adjustable seat width, Sports Seats
  • Premium Package ZKJ $4200: Dakota Leather, Logic 7, Fancy Rear Mirror + Garage opener, folding side mirrors, Lumbar Support
  • Navigation Package $2900: Includes Nav, Canada + US DVD, Voice Control and Programmable memory keys
  • Comfort Access $750
  • USB Audio Integration 6FL $350: Allows iPOD and other MP3 players to be plugged in and access through iDrive (since I have the Nav)

Is this the twin turbo model? If so, it should be faster than what you posted. I think Car & Driver posted a time of 4.9 Sec. for the RWD.

With variation from vehicle to vehicle, and testing venue, and considering that 100 k/p/h is meaningfully faster than the 60 mph C&D tests , and maybe even another gearchange involved (I don't know), the 4.9 number and the 5.7 number are consistent.

Yes this is the twin turbo.....I don't doubt C&D got 4.9 but the important indicator of performance is the factory number for the xi is faster than the RWD version.... This suggests, initial traction is more important than the extra 100kg for this car's acceleration.

I have already looked at an exhaust and blow-off valve for this......

I am thinking the same to replace our MY2000 S4. We run Pilot Alpins in the winter and it is cat like. I suppose you will do winter wheels/snows? I think the performance tires in the sport pkg. will be pretty much useless in the snow AWD or not (4X zero traction is still zero). When will it get here? Please post your impressions once you have the car. Thanks.

I am told April production, May delivery..... I am definitely getting snow wheels + tires (17") - so I have an extra 6 months to buy the snows.

We are getting 12-15" inches of snow tonight....the Audi (with Pirelli snows) is eating it up but I don't feel good sliding it......Audi is not a driver's car, it is a nice AWD couch.....

I really look forward to power slides in the 335xi in the snow, 12 months from now.....

I would find that very strange....they don't go officially on sale until March....your dealer should have all the specs / option packages already.

I think Clyde means it won't be available in EVERY body style. There is certainly no doubt about the 335xi sedan.
