G-powers: 1.15g (C55, 1,10g and M3 1.10g)
Overall score: 45 points (1 point better than M3)

BMW, are they cheating? it is called the 335i even though it comes with a 3.0-litres bi-turbo engine. But the two 39mm turbo chargers give it the advantage same as 0.5 litres more displacement.
The powerful engine has no problem with the weight of the car, always offers enough power and makes it a pretty good performer even though it has no "M" in its name.
The engine and 6-spped manual transmisison are a pefect peering, only there is no mechanical limited slip differential but an ESP which always interferes with throttle and gas, lacks a bit of traction. But the power of the engine always preserves the enthusiam of driving one.
You have to get used to the new active steering whoch gives a preview on the future things to come from BMW.
The 335i is a true dream car, nothing else, the quickest coupe without the "M" in its name.

Acceleration 335i:
80-120km/h 4/5/6 gear: 5.5 s /6.5s / 7.9s
80-160km/h 4/5/6 gear: 11.4s/13,7s/16.7s

80-160km/h 4/5/6 gear: 10,9 s / 13,9 s / 18,9 s
80-180km/h 4/5/6 gear: 14,1 s / 17,4 s / 25 s

Well, I'd have to say that is an impressive result.

As predicted life is going to be tough for the current E46 M3 and it's competitors.

Very impressive result indeed. The numbers would have been even better with a limited slip differential I am sure.

The new M3 will have to be a quantum leap over the old car in order to comfortably best a stock 335, to say nothing of a tuned 335.

The 335 coupe and sedan are both available to be configured on the BMW USA website. I am disappointed to see that a HUD is not an option on the coupe. It seems unlikely that a HUD will be available in the M3 given its absence from the standard car. (A HUD is available on the standard 5 and 6 cars.)

One other feature that I find quite desireable but which likely will not be present in the next M3 is an adjustable damper suspension, as in the Porsche 997. I love the sharp handling of my E46 M3 on 19s, but it would be nice to change damper settings easily when my wife is in the car with me. She finds the ride a little bit harsh, which leads to us typically using her car when we go somewhere together.

Im certain that the M3 is getting EDC like the M5 and a carbonroof like the M6.

I hope you are correct! My three most desired "technical" features, in order of preference:

1. EDC
2. Carbon roof
3. HUD

Put these together with 415-430 hp and you have real smash hit!

Id go with HUD and CF roof, and delete the EDC. Id also have a nav delete, an air con delete, sound deadning delete, rear seat delete, cloth interior option, and a mimimalist headunit + a basic speakers. E36 LTW back from the grave....
