E90 3 series a huge sales success - 85% up over E46

Not the M3 but the new 3-serie E90 seem to do very well

The Munich-based carmaker said it sold 94,622 new 3-Series saloons since the model's relaunch in March -- 85 percent more than were sold of the previous-generation model in the same time period after its launch in April 1998 (51,155).[/i]

I wasn't excited about the E90 when I saw pictures, but now that I've seen several on the road, it really looks good.

Re: E90 3 series a huge sales success - 85% up over E46

Not exactly a "fair" comparison, though - sales of the E46 rose steadily throughout its life, because of (a) entry/deeper penetration of the brand into new markets and (b) more aggressive sales tactics, at least judging by what we saw here in the UK...

However the competition is harder today. Many great cars to choose between.

Re: E90 3 series a huge sales success - 85% up over E46

I am in an urgent decision to buy a second car which E90 , I tend to buy the 325i so that I can still enjoy the new engine and everything of a BMW ; as I already own a very fast car. Need opinions as whether :-
1. The 325i is without Bi xenon ( 330i has ), do you think I will be regret?
2. There is no gear shift lever on the steering wheel of the 325/330 here; is this something I should be asking for ?
3. anyone knows how well the bi-xenon cornering light performs ? This is another feature it wont have on our local spec here

thanks

This can be read as E90 is riding on the reputation wave created by E46 then.

Don't know, but the E90 is a better car in every aspect.

cntlaw, the bi-xenons are a must, IMO.

I thought so too. The urgency is , for the current stock (which I can have the car next week) the dealer only offers Bi-Xenon on the 330, not 325. Or else, I have to custom order a 325 with bi-xenon , which takes it to deliver in Dec.
Ok, I 'll take your advice, n going to a test drive the 325 today, see how it goes. tks
