        M3 oil filter part number

I'm picking up my SG/IR Coupe at the PC 11/27. Paid for the car today. client advisor gave me 10 qts of 10W-60 and an oil filter. I'm concerned that the oil filter is wrong. the number on the box is 11 42 7 833 769 and the number stamped on the filter is 11 42 7 833 242. I've seen many postings in which the number is 11 421 730 389. Help?

Oil Filter part # is 11-42-1-730-308. A helpful DIY oil change can be found here as well. Good luck!

Talked to my BMW parts buddy in Ohio and she told me that in May of '02 BMW came out with the new filter, #11 42 7 833 769, for the new '03 M3s. She told me the new filter is about 1/4" taller than the older one, # 11 42 1 730 389. Also, the reason the part numbers are different between the filter and the box is because the box number is for multiple components including the filter.
