03 BlueWater SMGII M3

Finally, I put my order for 03 M3 coupe.
Car will be Bluewater/black leather with SMGII.

Moonroof
Heated seats
Park D. control
Bi-Xenon
Harman Kardon
Rear sun shade are in standart package in Turkey.

I ordered TV/moniter, bluetooth, cd changer as optional.
Have a question. Which cell phones can I use with bluetooth?

I want to get rid of rear sun shade + back head rests. They will let me know tomorrow if it is possible.
Individual paint will delay the delivery for 4 weeks. I'm expecting it to be at the end of Jan. I'll be certain in this week.

I couldn't wait for the facelift anymore. In the worst scenario in April, M3 will different rear lights.

I HOPE there won't be a new engine for the M3 before 2005.

Onur,

Congrats again. Your options are all very nice. It's center rear headrest that gets into your view. The side ones are OK.

You must be now like a pregnant lady waiting for the delivery

I'm sure you're gonna catchup with the E46 M3 techo very quickly and provide valuable advise and opinion to the board members afterwards.

All the best luck during the wait and after the delivery.

Cheers,

Ufuk

Thank you Ufuk,

It is very kind of you.
I'm very excited especially about the color and the SMGII.
First I thought of steel grey/cinnemon but cinnemon would get dirty easier and the craks on the leather would be more obvious.
Then I thought of imola red/black but it was too much "in your face" eventhough I like my friends imola red 330ci very much.

So I decided to go for my absolute favorite eventhough I would wait an other month and pay approx. 3K euro more.

I HOPE my joy will not spoil with a new powerful M3 engine release in near future

pride355, do you not want the rear sunshade because you are going to tint the rear windows?

The motorized rear sunshade is actually a very nice gadget and quite useful, at least for non tinted windows.

As for your question about the Bluetooth phones:
(I am sure here lots of people know much more):
European Gsm :
Ericsson T68i, R 520m
Nokia 6310/i, 8910, 7650
Motorola ?
Siemens S55
I have a T68i and I use it together with a 3com bluetooth dongle attached to my notebook to connect to my office network via GPRS. That`s my only experience with bluetooth.
Best regards
Alex

Yes I'm thinking of tinting rear windows. However I changed my mind and decide not to bother with rear sun shade. People pay money for that extra and it is coming in the standart package; so why not have it. At least I use it in heavy traffic not to be seen from behind while watching TV

Alex,
I'll try to post some bluewater pictures if I can find the website I saved from.
I stay with 18" wheels as the 19" wheels have very low profile and evenif the ride is not harsh when you buy the car, I'm sure as the car ages, let's say 2 years later there will be more noise in the car and the ride won't be as smooth as it use to be. Also I change rear tires every 20K km so it is more expensive to have 19" tires and it is also more difficult to find them in Turkey. While you are having 20-25% discounts on 17 and 18" wheels, you pay more than list price for 19" because they are not as common.

M3 EVO is a great car IMO, but it gets older and loses the magic as you start having problems.
I'm fed up of the manual transmission and SMGII is the biggest reason for me to decide on E46 M3. It is a complete package gives me everything I want. I WISH it was 100 kg lighter with all the options.

Thank you for the info. I'll go with Nokia then. I didn't want BMW phone since it is difficult to use double phone with tween GSM cards.

Unfortunately the delivery of the car has changed.
BMW individual doesn't accept my order as the christmas is coming so they put me in Feb. built time; delivery will be in April.

If I go with the standart colors, my car would be built in December and delivery would be in Jan.
For a sec. I thought of going for steel grey/black but I find this color combo very dull (no offense; please don't get me wrong) and very common since X5s, other 3-serie sedans and coupes have this color. At least there is no Bluewater M3 where I live, yet
Steel grey/cinn. is very nice but as the seats get aged and crack, side supports of the seats get blackish because of the dirt and it would be too obvious on cinn.
I guess I'll stick with Bluewater since I love it, and wait 2 more months. If I could get the december slot for my individual order, I would have gotten my car in Feb. which would be perfect. But life is not always in your service

Onur,

Sorry about your production delay. As they say everything in life has a price. In the case of BMW Individual the price is both money and time

The choice of exterior color is so personal that it's not event worth discussing. If it wasn't all the cars would be in the same color.

About the interior color; if you are worried about the cracks, I believe black is the last color you should choose. Since the cracks are almost white in color, they are most visible on black. I would say grey color would show the cracks least. On the other hand, good leather care and regular conditioning should prevent cracks being formed in the first place. Also, although it is true that the cinnemon gets (blackish) dirty, it is also true that it can be cleaned easily with a leather cleaner which takes half an hour every six months or so. Just some thoughts.

Cheers,

Ufuk
