I'm surprised Steve doesn't talk about the number of changes in the M3 V8 versus the M5 V10.

It is NOT "exactly the same engine with two cylinders cut off". The valvetrain is different, and the oil pump system is different. These are major changes that allow it to rev higher - to my understanding it has nothing to do with air box breathing as DINAN states.

I don't know why he keeps saying that the only difference is the crankshaft. I am disappointed with the lack of accurate information in this video. However, I am excited about the M3 V8 Stroker. Maybe he will chime in with the corrected facts.

I think he knows what he is doing, I think he simplified for a general understanding.

When the stroker officially comes out all the technical changes will be noted I am sure.

Are we Forgetting Someone...

Hartge did this already....albiet not a stroker motor...but they have already put a M5 V-10 in a E90 3 series(H50).....check out the Roundel.
Car had decent numbers....though I thought they would be a bit better seeing that it is a lighter chassis.
