big brake kit,............. i mean really big brake kit........ [6-pot Brembo calipers on 335i]

local rich guy and great friend called me to see his 335ic with 2 miles on the odo getting the tightest 6pot brembo w/380mm brembo discs, with 355 AP rear discs. Even ran it up to 130mph with the M5. the 335 was totally not broken in yet and with the top down.
In a word, this thing will be so fast that i will be scared to run it again after chip, exhaust, and a whole bunch of other goodies.
This one will be the most moded in the country. The 335 has to be the car to get now. im jealous and especially about those brembos, i wish my M has those gigantic brakes, i really dont feel our stocks are adequate, they might be enough, but they really could be better! And with those bad boy 6 pot brembos, im sure i can do more crazy sh!t with more confidence.
forgot to mention there was no clearance issue with the stock 19s whatsoever.

I'm sure you can get a custom Porsche GT2 brake kit by Brembo in Taipei to fit to our cars. Last time I checked its around $150000 NTD with Pagid RS29 pads. The GT2 6 pot brake caliper has 3 ceramic piston instead of stainless on the GranTurismo kit. This setup suppose to be even more effect the the standard Brembo kit.

that almost sound cheap, the set u see on the 335 there, front & back is a little more than that. i really dont NEED brakes, but i really want it. i'll think about it more when i cant stop and hit some scooter or old lady.

I feel the same way, dont need brakes but really want it. the price is just for front. Rears using Cayenne turbo caliper are another $100k NTD, those price includes rotors and brakets as well. Good luck have fun and be save.

i know they look nice and help you stop better but dont big brakes like that add weight to your vehicle? if your not tracking your car arent your bmw brakes sufficient?

This is accurate to some degree. I must say that this setup in such a car as nice as it might be is excessive overkill. If this setup is used to its full potential and does do its job correctly I can only hope other areas in this closed system can take the "heat". i.e. brake booster or master cylinder.

Nice looking setup though.

M3 brakes are just fine:

M3 Brakes = shortest stopping distance Edmunds has ever recorded

"In our tests, the M3 stopped from 60 mph in 100 feet, which is the shortest stopping distance we've ever recorded. At the Laguna Seca track event, BMW's organizers decided to run laps from the pit lane to avoid any straightaway incidents, which meant no cool-down laps for any of the cars. Despite this hard use, we saw very little smoke from the brake pads, and the brake performance of all the cars we drove held up well."

...from Edmunds.

When Motorweek tested the E39 M5 back in 1999, it recorded a 60-0 stopping distance of 95 feet. Wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't seen the video myself.

Sorry, not a huge fan. Those look like great brakes but they're a little overboard.
I'm also not a huge fan of the fact that the calipers don't match. The red fronts look great, but the rears remain the stock non-painted finish. It takes a lot away from the look of the car.
