Isn't it ironic... [Audi vs BMW M Double clutch]

...that BMW was first to market with a double-clutch gearbox, especially compared to Audi who had it in-house (VAG). QUoting Autocar:

"RS6 was yet another Audi denied the chance to use a DSG gearbox... How ironic it is that a BWM M product will offer a double clutch transmission before any fast Audi does so, despite the fact that Ingolstadt has been producing such gearboxes for five years.

i have the dsg in my little jetta 2.0t station car, and the drivetrain is really great. i agree with you gustav, in fact i posted just as much over on the audiworld s5 board. generally the audi enthusiasts are pretty disappointed as well. evidently audi has had problems with the tranny in their higher performing cars which are longitudinal platforms. the dsg is in the transverse mounted applications only for now...like the 2.0t where it works well.
