merc exhaust notes
hi
after watching top gear last night on bbc2 featuring the shootout between
m3 e92/rs4 quattro and merc c63amg ,i really love the sound of those merc
exhausts,anyone know how they get that sound and is it availible for the e39 m5?

YEA BENZ HAE A SWEET RUMBLE... BUT RS4'S ALSO SOUND REALLY GOOD WHEN YOU STEP ON IT. Also pretty curious on how theyr exhaust sounds like that

I so glad you started this thread, I have been think the same(Audi).
Plus adding in the exhaust tone of the Nissan V8s.

thanks,is it possible to get the eisenmann exhaust for the e39 with the quad ovals??,ive only seen it on the e60 m5.

Some of the older mercs (we're talking 80s an earlier) had them too...but they were nowhere near that loud. Ive had the pleasure of hearing this in person, and its not nearly as loud as they're making it out to be...however, for stock, it's pretty healthy.

I think a lot of the noise from the Merc on top gear is down to the fact that the engine is almost 50% larger than the Audi and the BMW??

Def the exhaust - I drove an AMG CLS55, so similar size to ours. Fantastic noise, fantastic car.
