Norway and back with the new BMW M3 V8

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

The day before the "GTboard.com Supercar Shootout III: BMW M3 E92 against all Enemies" we decided to drive to our dear neighbouring country Norway's capital of Oslo.

Visa större karta

Changing from one BMW M V8 to another BMW M V8. The other revs 1400 rpm more...

Fueling up!

Cruising out of the traffic from Stockholm...

Starting to get to the countryside. We are going west from Stockholm to Oslo and back.

Starting to hit freezing temperature and very foggy...

Excellet highways and as always not very much traffic in Sweden. But close to freezing temperature and 110 km/h limit...

It sure is autumn! The BMW M3 has the optional 19 inch wheels.

Countryside...

Near lake Järnsjön.

Before...

and after:

We had a hard time figuring out how that driver managed to crash that busstand and fly out into the junk yard. The car was Toyota Prius.

Reacing the border to Norway. Norway is not a member of the European Union, and therefore do they have customs. Of course we got waved in and searched through the car. Norway is unfortunately taxed on cars and the new price for the BWM M3 is 1 374 600 NOK which translates to 246 100 USD. Over 580 000 NOK in taxes. New price in Sweden is $98 000, 648 999 SEK.

The Roayl Palace bult in the first half of the 19th century as the Norweigan residency for the Norweigan and Swedish King Carl XIV Johan of Sweden. Henever saw it completed, he died before it was finished. It is now used as a the official residence of the Norweigan Monarch.

OVerelooking Karl Johann from the palace.

Arrival on a cold autmn / winterevening in Oslo, Norway. Here are we on their main parade street "Karl Johan", named after King Karl III Johan, in Sweden known as Carl XIV Johan, King of Sweden and Norway until his ***** 1844.

Parked securely in an underground garage with not so many interesting cars...

Seeing the palace from Karl-Johann.

Oslo's Stock Exchange.

Seeing signs to Stockholm from Oslo...

We found a matching bridge leaving Oslo!

European Union, here we come

Stopping in the small town of Kristinehamn on our way to Stockholm

Fueling up with Shell V Power!

Meeting up with friends and the BMW M5 E39 again to start to plan for the Supercar Shootout III: BMW M3 E92 Against all Enemies.

See the event here.

Supercar Shootout I here. DVD1 here.

Supercar Shootout II here.

Supercar Shootout III here.

See below for our day at the airfield:

how did you like driving it Gustav? (I already know you must have loved it)

IMHO this new M3 coupe and the sedan make the M6 and M5 respectively seem a little pointless.

I am really curious to know what you mean by this? Are you saying the cars are so alike they cater to the same group of buyers?

The BMW M3 is much more agile car, it feels more nimble than the BMW M5. On the other hand the BMW M5 and M6 does offer comfort and acceleration that the BMW M3 can never match.

A few suspension mods to either M5/M6 and you should match the agility of the M3.....
