I drove.

Did you read the text on the video? The tyres was cold so 2nd it slipped more than from the rolling start run. You can hear how it spun 1-2nd gear, and on the rollign starts it did not.

How could you be dissappointed hwen the M3 obviously is so much faster

Gustav, I think a 5-10 second clip of the AMG almost running over the camera would be an excellent header for all M5board / GTboard vids.....

But to be fair the V2 had more modifications tham this V1, right. The V2 was VERY fast compared tothe V1 was my impression.

V2 had the Vishnu V2 tune + Hi Flow Catted Downpipes (Ultimate Racing) + catback exhaust (Vishnu).

That particular 335i with V2 also had downpipes which is good for another 20-25 whp.

The Porsche 911 Turbo was tiptronic, and the start from 50 km/h was made via kickdown (as opposed being in correct lower gear via shift buttons), which caused some lag. I also do beleive (cannot confiirm now) that PSM was active.

I was surprised the e39 M5 was able to pass 335 V1, although V1 had a jump in the start. That is a good individual e39. My 335 v1 is faster than my M5 e39 (w Supersprint Exhaust, but no headers). Well done Gustav

When it comes to 335i vs M3, starting at 50km/h suits the gearing/powerband of 335i much better. Starting either at lower speed or higher speed would do more justice to the M3 for which the start at 50 km/h is problematic since its first gear runs out fast. Starting at 30km/h or at 80km/h instead would give very different results and would be less favourable for 335i in comparison.
