Eisenmann exhaust - Sport installed

It has been one week now since I had my Eisenmann exhaust (Sport version - oval tips) installed. The exhaust looks stunning. Pictures will follow later (horrible weather all week and no time to clean up the car).

At first I was disappointed since there was almost no sound difference compared to the stock exhaust. My biggest fear was having a drone inside the cabin but ... none of that. The dealer did tell me that the sound would open up after 3 to 400 miles. Luckily I did a lot of driving over the weekend and boy was he right. The sound changed drastically.

I've always liked the sound at cold start but now it is even better. At low rpm's the sound is deeper, heavier but the fun really begins as of 4,500 rpm. This is where you get this screamin' sound. Simply awesome. In my opinion this is what the M6 should have sounded like from the factory.

The good thing is that once you get off the gas you go back to a normal sound level. Cruisin' on the highway may be a notch louder than stock but is not annoying in any way and ... NO DRONE. Even my wife's comment was: wow, this thing sounds great now. The downshifts are something she ralready liked and now she is crazy about it.

Summary: should have had this exhaust from day one. Perfect for my needs and the convertible (driving with the rear window open was already on the top of my list but is now the absolute standard).

Just wanted to share this with you and if any of you out there were hesitant I can tell you: go get it. It is amazing.

Too bad it didn't make it on time for my trip to Monaco. I guess I'll have to do it again.

Cheers

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your experience! Welcome to the Eisenmann family M-individual. They DO sound great, either the sport, race or meisterschaft version! (Have race on my 6er).

Regards. Lou.

Just to clarify, the race and meisterschaft are the more aggressive of the 3, yes?

Someone needs to start an audio catalog of aftermarket exhausts. Video's are not as needed as audio files. Video's are just as easy to make and allow the potential buyer to see what the product looks like on the car. I agree this would be preferred. I don't have one and am not really considering one at this time so I can't take the lead on this but I think it would be a great sticky thread. Mods. and admins., what say you?

I like the idea. FWIW: I have been looking at clips on YouTube for months but all of them show the Race or Meistershaft version. It helped me in my choice to go for the Sport version as I assumed this would be more "acceptable". Try finding a sound clip (or normal clip) featuring the Sport version. Can't be found not even on the Eisenmann website. If I would be responsible for the marketing at Eisenmann I would put clips of all versions on the website as it would eliminate a lot of questions for potential buyers. What good does it to do stating the delta in dB between the Sport, Race and Meistershaft version? One needs to hear the difference.

Hearing the real thing still beats the sound clips but it would certainly help in the decision process.

What really helped me with my decision in the end was hearing the sound of the exhaust on Michael's car (fellow board member - thanks M).

I'll see what I can put togther (video or audio) as soon as I have some time available. Nonetheless, I like your idea as it would be a great service to the board members.

If we get a few clips posted, I'll be happy to make it a sticky thread.
