IPod Integration for '06 M6

Need your help folks!

Inquired with the delearship and was told that they can't install an IPod integration if I have a 6 CD changer. Is this true and if so, do you know of anybody in the Philly area that can install one? I'm willing to remove the 6 CD changer in exchange for the IPod of course.

Thanks.

I have heard the same thing. I have the Ipod installed and it has served me well.

It is true, I was given the choice of either a Changer or the ipod. I was told there is only one input.

All is well. Checked with my local dealer and as long as they remove the 6 CD Changer then installing the IPod integration is no sweat. Parts are being ordered and should be good to go soon.

You have to remove the 6CD changer in the glove box to install the integration,
which you at least paid $1000 for, so I went with a different rout and I am
really satisfied!

I now have 6 CD changer and 1 CD and Nav CD and also An AUX installed in the
glove box near the 6 CD changer! the AUX part is new but you can find
or order them from a BMW accessory shop at the service department.
ask for AUX for 6 series only.

Note: You can only play with the integration system play lists not all your songs
In your iPod

Demon M6 is right. There are several threads describing the inadequacies and frustrations of trying to operate your iPod through the iDrive integration.

It cost me less than US$ 200 to have the dealer install an AUX outlet in the glovebox of my '06. I believe that '07s come with an AUX in the console box, which is a better location IMO. The AUX install is not DIY as it requires reprogramming.

So now I use the fast and logical control on the iPod itself to select tracks instead of the iDrive kludge, and get to keep the 6CD changer as well.
