Ipod adaptor for M6 Convertable 2007

Has anyone installed the adaptor in the 2007 M6 convertable. My car didn't come with a change nor had an option to order the changer. The car has a plate in the glovebox wich I removed and couldn't see the plug for the adaptor. The dealer told me they couldn't do it.The car has hd radio, sirrus, nav , and all the toys. No changer

The Ipod adapter is a dealer installed option. The 07's no longer come with a cd changer as an option you can pre-order with the car. In either case the dealer should be able to install the ipod adapter or the cd changer, you can't have both however.

My dealer has had the car in twice to install it and failed twice. Anyone have instructions I can give them.

The CD changer cable used for the iPod interface needs to be connected inside the center console, which requires several hours of labor. This cable is missing 2007 M5/M6 models.

The recently announced 2008 M5 will have a factory installed iPod/USB interface, which might also apply to the 2008 M6. It is not clear what features this adds, or if there will be retrofits for earlier models. This does mean that the extra cable install only applies to 2007 models.

You might want to find a dealer that has performed this installation before, rather than have them "learn" on you car.

I was the "first" for my dealer. They did it well, didn't charge much and it works great.

Well, the car has to be brought up to the level of software that the iPod would need to be installed on, otherwise it won't work.

So can you install an ipod in an 07 model that has no cd changer? If so can someone refer me to a dealer who has done it since mine says they cannot do it.
