Experiences with NOS octane booster Racing Formula?

Hey guys,
Are any of you familiar with this stuff. It has MMTX(I think?some carbon chain compound) to raise the octane rating of the crappy gas here in Chicago by as much as 7 points(mfr. claim) When I put this stuff in my 03 E39 M5 I felt a noticeable difference in performance. The stuff supposedly meets BMW detergency standards and prevents engine build up, knocking, ect. I have asked my techs. that worked on my M5 if it was harmfull and they said no. I have 2 questions:
1. Should I have any reservations about using this product?

2.Why did I not notice the performance improvement as much as I did in my M5.

Looking forward to your insight.

I would not use an octane booster - too many questions regarding damage to the O2 sensor, or worse, the catalytic converter. On the M5/M6 the converters are attached to the headers, making replacement big $'s. Also, the boosters just aren't that effective. Here is the best article I've found.

What you can do is try to locate a Shell station that sells 94 octane gas. You can go on the Shell website and use the station finder. I found one within 10 miles of my home. My gas mileage appears to have improved, performance should be up a few HP, and it's only $.10 more per gallon than the 93 octane.

Thanks a lot Mike! I use shell gas exclusively already but will see in any of the stations I use sell 94. I can't recall seeing it. I will also review this article. I used the stuff a lot in my E39 M5 and did not have any problems. I also got quite a big jump in performance so I am saddened to have to stop using it. I appreciate the advice and will let you know if I discover anything new. I am puzzled as to why my BMW SA's would not tell me that it might harm the engine!? Take care and thanks again.

Don't you mean Sunoco? I don't think Shell makes any higher than 93. At least not around here.

YES, I meant Sunoco - good catch. Sorry about that - here's the station locator you can use to find 94 octane gas (thanks to rsinha for the tip).

http://www.sunoco.navisite.com/

They'll list the Sunoco stations nearest you in order of distance. I just started calling the stations, and asking if they carried 94 octane. I got a hit on the 4th one, 7 miles from my house. Good luck!
