Just had the H&R Springs for the M6 installed. Some Good news and bad news.
The good news. The car looks great. Front dropped 1" and the back about 3/4". It actually looks much lower than that. The front air dams will easily scrape a speed bump.
The bad news. The ride is much harsher than I expected. I hit a small dip in the road and I literally was lifted out of the seat. The car also seems to transmit every little bump in the road, even on the highway. Tracks well on sweepers, but I don't think the loss of daily ride quality is worth the looks.
I'm going to give it a bit of time, but I think I'll eventually pull them off. At this point I would not recommend them.
Hopefully H&R can come out with a new revision with a little more forgiveness. .
When I saw your post I couldn't click on it quick enough. So sorry to hear about your results and I must say I am surprised. Your post was the first that I have read that said lowering had a significant impact on ride quality. I agree that the car will look a lot better lowered, but at what cost?
I had a Porsche with sports suspension (option 030 I believe) and it seemed stiff but very usable for daily driver. Do you have any experience with factory sports suspensions on other cars for comparison?

That's a shame. The springs on the M5 have a small effect on ride, but nothing drastic. As someone previously said, 'comfort' mode becomes halfway between 'comfort' and 'normal', and the same with the other modes. I wonder why the springs have such an effect on the M6? Are they the same springs as for the M5?

I had a 2004 Corvette Z06 and now I also have a 2006 Corvette C6 Coupe. The C6 in sport mode gives a stiff ride but it soaks up moderate bumps. I've never been lifted out of the seat by a bump in the road. The Z06 had heavy duty sway bars and a track tuned suspension, even it may have been slightly more forgiving than these springs. Either way, I would expect more from this setup. The M6 is still in comfort mode with the H&R's, I haven't even tried sport mode yet. I think the biggest disappointment was the highway. I don't think I can accurately describe the feeling. If you hit some wavy surfaces, the car feels like it's riding on top of the bumps and moving around a bit. Hard to explain. I don't think there is any real loss of control, just a sensation. The car simply wasn't absorbing the road irregularities. I could feel every little bump. My client advisor is an ex BMW racer. He test drove the car first. He actually called me the day before pick up to give me a heads up. He doesn't like the feel either. At this point I would suggest saving the $1,000 until more options are available.
I have purchased Euro or RoW factory springs in the past and have considered doing this for my M6. Maybe now I will more seriously consider this.
Up until your post I was going to put on H&R's or ACS springs (Eibachs I think, ACS switches OEM's every now and then). To clarify, I'm talking about getting the Euro BMW part numbers for the springs on Euro spec M6's, order from say a German dealership, and install them on my U.S. spec M6.
I think this would give a much better look without sacrificing ride quality at all. My feeling with this is the car would be set up as the factory intended, and would look much better.
It worked on my Porsche, will it work on the M6? Can't imagine why it wouldn't. Anyone care to comment?
Finally, and most importantly, could someone please provide me with the Euro M6 spring part numbers (front and rear).

Real OEM lists the front spring as part number 31332283075. There are two part numbers listed for the rear; 33532283076 and
33532283077 for "Vehicles with HiFi Professional DSP"
Unfortunately, they don't have US spec part numbers for the M6 up yet, so there's no way to know if there is a difference.
Gosh, that really blows. I was going to take the plunge and order the Springs tomorrow before I took off to London. I was looking at my car today and was thinking what it would look like with 21's without being lowered so I had decided to get springs.
After reading this, I will take your advice and just wait for better alternatives as I don't want to sacrifice ride quality for better looks at this point since the M6 is stiffer than the M5 in Sport setting, but seemed softer in Comfort setting (strange).
I'm learning more and more about the car. I initially was going to get an exhaust system but opted not to since the car sounded pretty good. It is noticeably louder than the M5 with a much deeper growl while the M5 seems to have a more of a "whine" to it.
I guess I may just go with 20s and not even bother lowering it, but will Chip it and remove the charcoal filters.
