Autocar GT3 vs M6

Awful article in which they say the gt3 is much much much better car.Im a porsche fan and have a turbo on order..but that is ridiculous comparison..would any m6 owner on here consider a GT3 ?
The m6 is a Gt which happens to make a good stab at being a sports car,the Gt3 is an outright sports car.

Two fabulous cars that won't be cross-shopped by many.

Almost as silly as comparing the M5 to the Gallardo.

Agree 100%.

I think they make great stablemates, and hope to acquire a GT3 solely for track purposes. Cross-shopping them, though, that makes little sense.

Since I consider to purchase a GT3 (not as a substitiute for the M6, of course), I'd like to read that article. Can you please post it here, or instead summerise their conclusions and write down the (hopefully self-measured!!!) performance figures?

In return I can inform you about the Sport Auto magazine GT3 Supertest results on June, 16th.

Thank you in advance.

Autobahnraser,

I'm also looking to acquire one (albeit next spring) to complement my 993TT and incoming M6.

Are you on a waiting list in Germany? When do you expect to get yours?

If and when you do, I'd be very grateful if you would post driving impressions, track and otherwise (perhaps in the turbo forum section of this board).

Thanks.

Hi Wayward!

I did not order the GT3, yet. I am waiting for the Sport Auto Supertest results (coming June, 16th), and than make up my mind.

If you place an order today in Germany you will get your GT3 not before the first quarter 2007.

What do you need two 911s for?

Autobahnraser,

Wow, the wait is Q1 of '07 and it's not even released yet?! Ugh, I'd better get on a list. (I'll also be looking forward to Sport Auto tests as well).

As to needing two 911s, well, "need" isn't really the right word. I'm a member at a track-based country club and would prefer to track the GT3. Plus, my 993TT is in such pristine condition that I'd like to keep it as something of a collector car, if I'm able to. Firstly, it's the last of the hand-built, air-cooled gems (and Ferry was still alive), and secondly since I've been driving them for a long time and that generation just feels like home. I'm gonna need to really clean out my garage though, lol.

New M6

Autobahnraser,

Did you get your M6 repaired after the sad tangle with the old man in the Mercedes or did you get another M6?
