today my new '06 M6 Silverstone II / Silverstone II / Carbon is arrived.
The car is 50 week build, for this I think has not the vanos line problem (I HOPE)
I have ordered the car with all options, with 07ME 305 km/h package, the car is arrived with 11 km on it, I think the first test, the car is very beautifull, I had a 645Ci SMG II before.
First impression is that the car is very different from 645ci SMG II
1) the sound is very impressiver, surely out of the car, and a bit in the car, and I cannot push because the break in procedure that I am having carefully.
2) The bumbers, also in comfort mode, are very harder than 645ci
3) The rpm goes up very quicker and the torque at low rpm is better
4) the SMG III is better starting the car, is quicker, but for now I am using mode 1 2 3 in D and S, also for break in...
5) Breakes are very powerfull with less work ,
6) In the 546 SMG I had active steering, and I was unhappy to have not it in M6, but the steering is very direct also without it, is more harder, expecially at low speed, but the response of the car to the steering is very good also without ACTIVE STEERING option, not available for M6
7) The bluetooth works better, the I drive quicker, and now my Sony Ericsson T10 (I love it also if old model works I think betterand better with BMW), now the mic sound is clear, and I see the power of the signal in the monitor, the phonebook is ok , all right and quicker, my car has CIP 20.0, today is arrived 20.1 in BMW.
8) Unfortunally NAV PRO do not works, I insert DVD in the DVD drive, and the system sais continuously NO DVD IN THE DRIVE, the drive is the right DVD drive of course, eject, insert, reboot the I drive, nothink , the map DVD is not recognized
9) At first oil level is not available, only after 120 km it shows 0.1 , yes 0.1 after 100 km, now I am at 0.0 after 230 km, tomorrow I will check the level again and the floor of my garage, today I go to BMW, the man sais is normal to have it at 0.1 when the car is NEW, he give to me 1 liter of oil, I have it in the car now for safety...
10) I have ordered the AUX retrofit KIT, I want it in the car, I have ordered it but is not in the car, just ordered, I will install in my first 2000KM service.
11) I have asked to the dealer to have all oil needed for 1st service, I want to run the first 2000 km very quickly, is not possible to drive the car like an idiot, I am waiting it from 3 mounths......however to drive it today is a very very good impression
12) the car goes at 150km and seems like 100, is not very different from 645 for this impression, also the 645 give very save impression
13) the driver seat is more sport than 645 sport seat, is better for M6
14) I give a full tank when I take the car, I have do half tank with 200km, dving quickly, the consumation is 30% more than 645, actually the car shows 14.6 km/l after first 240km, a bit more than half the tank , using it in free way and city, using it at maximum 150 km/h, mode 1 2 3 of SMG.
15) About P500 and P400 the difference is noticeable, also at low speed, asking low power to the engine, I like the M DRIVE, and I use M Drive HUD mode anso out from M mode, is better
16) THe silverstone II changes with the sky, sometimes silver, sometimes with blue tones, very beautifull
17) The start / stop button is very beautifull, now at first start the SMG goes automatically in N and the engine starts, with SMG II you must do it manually in N
Ok, this is my first round, first impressions, this dais and first weekend I want to test it better, also with my wife to have other impressionsa and differences from my 645CI SMG 2004, I had do 65000 km with it and I loved it.
