Forgive me, but the "back end" portion of your post reminds me of an old girlfriend! She did like MY package, though, lol! I suppose nobody's perfect!

"If there is nothing good about owning an M6"
I am happy as happy gets knowing that there will be not allot of M6
on the roads as much as M5's which are allot already.

*paying $100K or $120K is nothing like paying $85K and I expect less M6's for that price*.

Here is a new picture of my M6 for you guys

At the moment I can't make either M5 or M6 work for me, so I must content myself with admiring from a distance. The M5 doesn't work for me as a family car (not practical enough) and is considerably more thirsty than my 4.8is X5 so I wouldn't choose to stack lots of miles under it either. Then the M6, whilst being great fun to hustle isn't as sporting or capable on track as my M3 CSL, so I'd miss that if I replaced it. I can't justify an £80k two-seater (trust me, I tried to fit the four of us inside and it would only be comfortable for a few miles) and don't need to drive around in something of that value on a day-to-day basis. For once I'm stuck and wish BMW had put the V10 engine in a more out-and-out sportscar with fewer nods towards comfort and usability.

Yup, to each his own.

I wanted a very comfortable car that could run and feel like a track car. While my M6 doesn't feel as trackable as my M3's, the feeling of power makes up for that. I won't be tracking my cars now, thus the M6 was the perfect combo of performance, looks and luxury for me, with an emphasis on the performance.

I made the right choice, for me.

You bet, that's a nice Jag (or is it a AC Cobra coupe). Odd kidney grills on it tho

Looking at the 'other' and previously owned cars of the current M6 owners, they seem to be largely (30% to 50% perhaps) prior 645/650 owners. Not the case with M5 from what I quickly saw (that is M5 owners are not as often moving up from an E-60 525/530/545).

I wonder if BMW truly sees that a large part of their M6 market are 6 series upgraders? If you like the 645/650, you probably want more of the same and lust for an M6 (I know I do, just a matter of when). On the other hand, if you never liked the 6 series, then its probably a lot easier to dismiss the M6 from your wish list.

Agreed, and my last 6 series car was the 635Csi I purchased in 1985! Go figure...

Actually I intentionally didn't get a 6er since I knew the M6 was imminent (I ordered it in Jan of 02). Given the elapsed time factor since then, I guess that "imminent" has ended up being somewhat interpretive a term, as things have turned out.

You nailed it. I loved my 645cic. The M6 allowed me to gain M Power performance with the 6 series styling. The big question now is M6 coupe to M6 cab upgrade. I'll have to get the divorce settlement worked out ahead of time for that one.
