New 2008 M6

I just bought a 2008 M6 Coupe; a left over from 2008 so it was at a great discount. But i am having trouble allready with the SMG. I was told that 2008 had no issues but the car was made 10-07 as a 08? I had a full out failure where the car left me shut down on a busy road. BMW fixed replaced a pump for the SMG and gave me a new battery and it worked fine for 700 miles. I am now getting a No start and a warning of transmission at half capacity and then it starts after repeated pushes to the ignition. The car then runs fine.
Does any one have any input or heard anything like this happening to a 2008 M6 SMG??? I love the car by the way issues or no issues!!!! so i hope this gets resolved soon.

Your great discount may have unfortunately been a result of your SMG problems. Sounds like they will owe you a new transmission soon especially if they have already replaced the SMG pump. Keep the pressure on the dealer!

M6s are known for NOT having SMG problems like the early M5s, so your case I think is unusual. I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Just got my new M6 delivered on Feb.2, 2009. Alpine white with black merino leather and alcantera interior, carbon fiber trims, heated steering wheel, bluetooth, satellite radio, head up display, comfort access and I think the most valuable one a Valentine One. I'm a new convert from Mercedes to BMW. This is my first BMW and so far I'm enjoying every moment of it. Used to have '06 SL500, 02' Carrera 2. Nothing matches with this beast. Hopefully I'll be transformed forever.
