Just got my 2007 Black M6 a couple weeks ago. sorry dont hav pics yet. I'm still breakin in about five hundred miles left, cant wait. Question: when shifting in 1 and 2, is it normal to hear a little clunking at low speeds?
Thanks,
Zack

My m6 has 3900 miles on it...I got myine around easter '06. I do not recall hearing any clunking. The transmission does take some getting used to. Once you figure it out the cr can be driven quite smoothly.

Hi Vegas - There is a clunking mostly in the settings S1 to S3 which I must say I never use. I used only S4 during the run-in period and thereafter only use S5 and S6 (in M mode only). I only hear clunking when the vehicle is moving very slowly and I change gear whilst not accelerating or decelerating. If you are still in doubt take it your dealer.

Launch control

Is the launch control mechanism deactivated for North America? Has anyone tried to engage it?

From reading the European boards there has been some trouble with the transmissions. BMW has made good.

FINALLY!

Saturday evening I drove my 05 645 to the BMW dealer and picked up my 07 Fully loaded Silver-Grey/Black M6 cab. Only 3 letters come to mind - W O W
I have been too busy driving it to stop and take pix but plan on doing to over the long weekend.
One question is there a more comprehensive owner's manual besides the included leather bound package? Specifically something with techincal specs regarding shift modes, DEC modes etc...?
Thanks.
