I live and die with my V1. Wife and son have V1 also.

No way to beat the info from V1. Knowing how many bogeys are there, and the DIRECTION, Is invaluable. Have had it hardwired into my last 8 cars for more than 20 yrs.

I put a lot of hwy miles on my cars and protection is an absolute necessity. I keep looking for something better but it just don't happen.

BTW I have mine hardwired into a switched circuit near the rear view mirror. In my M6 I simply hang it on the passenger's visor. There it's high enough to be out of sight, someone looking in can't see it easily, yet it can see front and rear. Having it wired into a switched circuit turns it on every time I start the car and off when I turn it off.

Haven't seen it. Have heard of many fancy installations. Dunno if they allow the ease of use. Suspect they're just unneeded bells and whistles that actually do nothing for the task at hand. By installing nothing I am able to periodically upgrade to the latest unit for $250. Now I do that whenever some improvement is made, passing mine to my wife, hers to my son and sending his in for trade-in. BTW theirs still work great, I just like to always have the latest and best just in case...

Please keep this thread on topic. There are plenty of other threads regarding V1 installations on both the M6Board and the M5Board.

I've been meaning to delete all the irrelevant posts from this thread for ages now, one of these days I'll get around to it.

Jumper Cables

They had the car hooked up to the cables to prevent the battery from draining too much while we were going through the orientation.
