M6 or 997 TT

I know it is a tough one but i think the cars are direct competitiors. 2 doors 2+ tiny seats. And lots of power... but which gets the nod?

Dunno if there will be a manual option for the M6 which could be even more difficult to choose between them. Would like to hear your thoughts

Re: M6 or 997 TT

M6 will be cheaper, more luxurious and roomy, more comfortable for daily use.

997TT will be faster and should handle better, but less roomy. Better than M6 on a track, but not as good as 997GT3.

Re: M6 or 997 TT

Black,

Porsche has not had a car in the 911 lineup this exciting since they went from the "964" 911 to the "993" 911's !

I imagine that the 997tt will be really incredible!

ps: why not buy both?

Can't afford both!!!!

I am on a wait list for a M6 cab (if it is made), but am also considering the new 997TT cab (probably 18 mo away). I'm very undecided. I keep going back and forth. Stealth vs in your face. Grace vs all out speed. Ugly butt vs classic appearance. M6 will probably be less $$$$$ in short term, and may hold value better long term, not sure?

Have never owned a P car, love my 03 M5. Wife wants to drive my M5 more often (and her SUV less) and wants me to get a 2dr car that will keep me as happy as my M5.

Problem is when your sedan is an M5, kinda makes a tall order to get a 2 door that is more sporting and faster than the family sedan :p

Re: M6 or 997 TT

997 TT, but Porsche may use the dreaded RMS-prone (rear main seal leaks) engine from the regular 997 which came from the 1997 Boxster.

997 3,8l engine is a new development. Never has the origin from Boxster. The 996 tt has the engine which is based on Porsche GT 1 race car.

Re: M6 or 997 TT

It's a tough decision. I don't think there could ever be a correct answer. At this moment in time I would take an F430 over the above mentioned cars.

Re: M6 or 997 TT

the430 does look something else, however not comparable as it can't be used daily whereas the porker and M6 can.

Its a tough one,the m6 will be more civilsed, but much slower ,not as intense driving experience, but you would rather be stuck in traffic in the BMW.It will be a tough call.

Ive got both on order and an AMv8 so im going to have a real headache as I can only afford to keep one.

Re: M6 or 997 TT

Mark,

True about the F430 great looks and that engine note. But not an accomplished daily driver like the 997 or M6.

Your seriously going to be pulling your hair out deciding which one of your three cars to keep. Porsches are great cars but just so common in some areas. If I remember correctly your from the North West like me. If your drive round places like Wilmslow/Alderley Edge or Manchester city centre it seems everyone has got one. Which kind of takes the shine off what is a great car.
