m5 vs m6 CAr magazine

According to car magazine talking about the m6....'BMW engineers claim it drives very differently from the m5:more hard edged, more alert and delivering the kind of searing in-gear accleration that promises to leave the M5 trailing.Make no mistake ,the m6 promises the kind of driving experience that could break ferrari and Porsche's grip on grin-inducing driver engagement and white-knuckle driving dynamics.'

they went on to say how it is lighter and has a lower centre of gravity.

Round 1 to the M6 then, however they also indicated a price of c. £85,000 for the M6.......so round 2 to the M5 then.

As a future M6 owner I will be very very annoyed if it were c.£23000 more than the m5 ,pro rata it should be the same price level as the 645 is to the 545 surely ?

Re: m5 vs m6 CAr magazine

That comes up to my expectation. While test-driving both 545i and 645Ci I made the experience that the 645Ci handles noticeably better.

In Germany the 645Ci (72.000,-- €) costs 24,14 % more than the 545i (58.000,-- €) and the M6 (106.500,-- €) costs 23,55 % more than the M5 (86.200,-- €).

Re: m5 vs m6 CAr magazine

This would make a very, very interesting internal brand testing, M6 vs. M5. And I hope that it kills the perception that the M6 is merely a coupe version of the M5.
