        New 6 Series Photos

        From Auto Spies:

        http://www.imakenews.com/autospies/e...1TsnCf,aLNpsYH

Bangle must have been on vacation! It looks pretty good to me: normal lights and all.

Also news on the current 7 series, also from Auto Spies:

Just in from the UK- Shocker, BMW has decided to tough it out over the much criticized 7-Series styling by abandoning the scheduled early make-over that would create a new look, a little more like a bigger version of the forthcoming 5-Series.

Instead, the Bavarians will try to stave of the inevitable by offering a combination of new engines(starting with a 275bhp 3.5-litre petrol base model)better specification on SE and Sports (like new kit as standard) and some "irresistible" finance options(including low interest rates) to make the cars very attractive indeed.

The company has decreed that the planned 2005 facelift will be the only point at which the model is refreshed- but ONLY AS A LAST RESORT - if the new engines, freebees and affordability do not improve what some BMW dealers in the UK have admitted are "shockingly poor sales indeed".

Get ready for some really impressive rebates, frighteningly high guaranteed residuals and subsidized low BMW finance rates. If this policy works in the UK where it is being trialed, it will be repeated globally. Currently in the UK, BMW are quoting $5K deposit and $900 p/m for a 730 (petrol or diesel), and can locate a car "from stock" in 24-hours. In luxury car terms, BMW are almost giving cars away to get them out of the storage pound.

Keep your eyes on the press and don't forget to drive a hard bargain at the dealer. Unofficially, BMW are under strict instructions to do almost ANYTHING to sell a 7.

Wow! Looks really great! Those pictures look real and not CGIs like the early one from the 'Ring with the orange indicators. Can't wait for the M6.

Bunghole must have gotten back early from his vacation, looks like he's made up some time on the rear end. What's up with the boot? That must be the worst rear end out of the hole lot!

I think its hard to be sure given the watermark covering the image, but it looks OK to my eye. The height is no doubt to provide trunk volume and the clean sweep from the roof line seems quite harmonious to me and the side profile also - as best as I can see.

I'm personally hopeful. I love BMW cars on an engineering and performance level and I am hoping I can find something to transition to in their line that is not visually butt-awful. Otherwise, regrettfully it will be: hello MB.

The pictures from the first post have definately been photoshopped. I can show you if only I knew how to attach pics to this reply.

        Oak,

Having now seen all the official pictures, I have to agree that Bungle must have returned early from vacation!

I have told my dealer to put me down for an M6, but I have the same reservations re the 6 rear and frankly also the interior.

But at least the 5 series Dame Edna front lights have been retired.

How sad that all discussion of new BMW design today is almost universally filled with reservations.

ummm those pics from autospies are 'official' .... do you really think some1 would have the time, effort and skills to photoshop over 40 photos??

i think the interior is stunning!! works better then in the new 5 series in my own opinion ... maybe cause the pop in the middle isnt so large ... it just seems like a nice place to be in luv the interior colours too... and how the trim wraps right around, under the windscreen.

the exterior? ... ill wait to i see it in person to make judgements
