The first 6 series cabrio spy shots!
it reads:
We've seen many pictures of BMW’s future 6-Series coupe, but this is apparently the first time BMW’s convertible has been caught in public.
The 6-Series, a sophisticated mix of 5- and 7-Series components into a proper four-seater, will be officially introduced in Coupe styling at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show. The Cabrio, shown here, will debut a year later, also in Geneva.
Codenamed E64, the all-new 6-Series convertible will likely be powered by a series of V-8s including a 272-hp 3.5-liter engine, with other options including a 333-hp 4.4-liter V-8, and a 231-hp 3.0-liter six to follow. We also expect the convertible to be equipped with a traditional canvas top – power operated, of course. An updated and improved iDrive system, passive and active safety features borrowed from the 3-Series convertible and more passenger room than the Audi A4 Cabriolet and Mercedes CLK convertible round out the highlights.
Pricing for the BMW 6-Series convertible is expected to start around $47,000 when they arrive for the 2005 model year.

Hmmm, front looks like a Z4. Rear looks like the Lexus SC430, or just another bangle-ised butt.
Oh wellz. It might look better once the covers are off.
Just my 2 cents.

B8 Guru - I agree with you. My first impressions screamed Pontiac rather than BMW. At a glance the front looks a lot like the '04 Pontiac GTO without a roof and get a hold of that hind end...not sure about that.

Bob Lutz?
When did Bob Lutz start designing BMW? I totally agree about the Pontiac-style front. Front is not pretty, nor is the rear....about the only thing i like is the rims.

of course you like the rims- they are off the Z8
IMHO the 6 is shaping up to be the ugliest of all the cars. they said they needed the Bangle Butt for aerodynamic reasons on the 7- but its clear they are trying to use it to make a styling statement. Its a bad statement that says to me "
go elsewhere automotive enthusiast"

I am sure they will make the production front end look less Pontiac like- but it is getting too close for my comfort...
