Here's a List Of My Current Mods.

They're mostly modest and comfort or convenient based or maintenance like new wheels to replace bent Elips.

I've been working on these for a while and I have just a few things left to do but here's my progress so far.

Front lighting
OEM LCI front turn signals upgrade (installed with proper custom harness)


6000K MTEC headlights
6000K HID fog lights

Additional installed LEDs (all installed with no resistors needed)
10W AEs (waterproofed) not super bright, but 6000k color matches well
Rear directional signals
Front side markers
Doors
Foot wells
Center overhead lamps (not over mirrors, too harsh IMO)
Trunk
License plate lights

Enabled rear fog lamps (installed new European spec switch)

Wheels

OEM M6 chromed wheels
Hancook V12 NRF tires
Red MGP caliper covers
Carbon Fiber center caps


Compact spare tire/jack kit (in trunk for long trips only)

Programming with NCS coding

AEs as DRLs
High beams using main headlights
Enable fog lamps with high beams
Dash lighting always on
Digital speed on dash enabled
Fan marker LED on in auto mode
Enable tail lights for DRL
Windows up from key fob
Delete weather band from radio
Remove Nav warning splash screen
Remove all bulb warnings for LEDs

Nav Screen and audio

NAVVIDEO monitor adapter installed - allows on-screen video anytime
Rear camera on license plate
Rear camera on CAN BUS automatically on during reverse


Video in 1 – iPod with video/movies on-screen (not controlled by iDrive)


Video in 2 – HDMI out from Android Motorola phone to read txt and email on dash (I used a HDMI to composite video convertor)

Video in 3 – rear camera on full time

Mod for USB charger port in center compartment next to aux-in


Additional internal parallel aux-in connector on for iPod adapter

Updated map DVD

Misc.

Schnitzer Pedals and foot rest


Carbon Fiber front and rear Roundels


Carbon Fiber steering wheel Roundel


Upgrade to rear view mirror with compass

Remove yellow air bag warning on visors

This is awesome! I have a 07 E64 as well. I do not have a USB port anywhere I can find, just AUX in. I would love to add a backup camera to the car and setup the ability to display my Android phone's txt or email on the screen etc, basically get the video input working.

How did you pull these off and whats the best way to add the USB/camera?

I'd be happy to share but it's a lot of detail.

I see you're close by me. I'm on the BimmerForums 6series board also and I've started a discussion about a local get together in March one weekend to compare notes, mods etc.

Once I have a plan. I'll post it here too and hopefullty well get some more locals from the M side of the house. Who knows we might even get some local power users join us for the event.

I'm incredibly curious how you did the AUX cable? Did you have a shop do it for you? I've been looking to get one so I can play my iPod but haven't found anything I like so far.

I don't know what year you have but my 07' came with that feature.

I added the USB for charging only. I think that 07' was the first year this was standard but there are several threads on adding one.

FYI, it requires both hardware and coding to activate.

Yeah mine is '06 so it doesn't have one. All of the threads make it seem so confusing to do haha I dont know enough about electronics to do any of that. Thanks though.

If you have a good indy or a dealer can do it for you also.
