DIY: Evolve ECU Software Tune - My review

Amazing software. Noticeable immediate increase in power and torque. Idle is much smoother, super fast shifts, top speed limiter removed, insane throttle response, the beast literally jumps when you tap on the gas pedal. Wow!

They send you a USB to OBD2 cable kit and you flash the ECU from home using laptop. No need to remove and ship out ECU module.

Some important notes:
1) Downloading of your stock ECU software to your computer takes about half hour. You will send this file to Evolve so they can tweak it.
It is very important that the download process is not interrupted so I recommend hooking up your car to a battery tender or battery charger.

Also ensure your computer has enough battery power.

2) Downloading of tuned file to your car takes only 3 minutes average. Very quick.

Full effect after ECU relearns the new mapping per Sal and Jamie is after 100 miles of driving.
I have only driven 80 miles and am very impressed with the increased engine performance.

The beats feels lighter due to increase on engine power.

Jamie and Sal has provided me with excellent support.

This mod is worth every penny. Very highly recommended.
Hopefully Sal and Jamie will offer a Christmas Holiday special pricing for board members.

Hi Gary, with the convertible being almost 500 lbs heavier - I think performance wise we would be neck and neck

This software in my opinion makes up for the additional 500 lbs that convertible gained.

I think you will be happy though with the additional power it gives especially for a coupe which is 500 lbs lighter than a convertible.

Did you buy the Stage 1 - just wondered why you chose this over the Alpha N tune ?

Dan-very happy to hear that you joined the Evolve movement and appear to be well satisfied-I myself could not believe the difference between the Evolve and another tune I had installed by the dealer! I was eagerly anticipating your report on the process. I hope all of you in Seattle enjoy a relatively dry winter so that your cars can be enjoyed extensively.
Now, if you could only convince Evolve to ship out some long tube headers to me while misplacing the invoice, I would be eternally grateful!

Alpha N tune requires physical modification. I am still under original warranty and dont want possible warranty claim issues later to for now I only went with software tune only.

Yes, another satisfied customer here with Evolve software. Amazing software.

Difference between stock software is very very noticeable in engine performance improvement.

Seattle weather is another story...it's been raining a lot so I am unable to drive the beast much.

What is the issue you are having with Evolve?

Thanks - I was also a bit concerned about the Alpha N mods required so will probably do the same tune as you in the New Year (or earlier if Evolve do a Christmas special !). The Evolve tune gets a lot of raves from board members - sounds like its one of the best and easiest ways to make a great car better !!
