Tint+front license fix-it ticket

I just got a fix-it ticket for tint+front license plate. It sucks, police officer had no other reason to pull me over.

The ticket the police officer issued has 2 errors on it. He miss spelt my name. Also, for the "must appear on or before date" he clearly wrote 3/1/12 (today is 11/26/2012).

Any recommendations on how to fight this ticket?

Yes, hire a traffic lawyer. Here in Seattle there are quite a few good traffic lawyers. Basically you fax them your ticket and write him a check for $300.00 and a few months later he calls you and says your ticket has been cancelled.

I've done this twice already and mine were both speeding tickets.

1st check the back of the ticket to see if still fixable.
if police put a big X mark or cross out on the back where for other police to check and sign place, then you can't fix this ticket

assuming there is no big X or cross out mark in the back of the ticket, you can ask around to see any friend who knows a police who can help to sign the back of the ticket.

the worse case if pay for everything without fix, which is what i did for window tint. i think that was around $300 to $900 at LA county court (2 years ago dont remember exact amount)

find a dermatologist to write you a prescription for the tint and problem solved in the future.

just pay it...you really don't have a defense except you like illegal tint and don't want to ruin the front of your $120k car with a tag

Paying it will be cheaper than a lawyer and there are no license or insurance points for this "fine". You can get a prescription for the tint for future troubles though like mentioned above...although that will cost you as much as the tint unless you have some Dr. friends. Good luck

WTF!!! I am never living in CA lol. I just got a ticket for doing 66 in a 45, went to court, dropped it to 54 in a 45, no license points, no lawyer, no insurance points, $85

I've been doing this for 10 years. Sign off the tix yourself!! nobody checks who signed it off. trust me, I could careless about "fix it" tickets...

i dont remember how much i paid but it is over $300 i remember. one time was $900 i think maybe for something else
just search online and there is a guy said he paid $230 for without remove the tint on 10/2011
also double fine next time if get same fix ticket again

That sucks! Here in Texas, I get pulled over every 6 months or so for tint that is too dark on the front windows and or the missing front plate. It is always a warning ticket....never a fine.
