S85 total failures

Hi all,

I would like to learn if any of you faced engine failures due to high mileage. Major failures like crankshaft bearing problems leading to total engine failure. Mileage?

I would like figure out how long should I keep my 2006 M6. It is at 100.000km for the moment with no major issues.

Thanks in advance

Hi I am Hristo from Bulgaria.

I had a M6 05/2005 and it suffered all possible problems even concerning the engine. At 45000 the complete engine had to be replaced (thank god it was under warranty),at 90000 had to pay 2000 Euro for engine head problems and just before I sold it at 103000km had to pay 4300 Euro for the same problem and also there was a big wear in some bearings. This are only problems concerning the engine all others costed me ~ 15000 Euro.
I'm sure the problems came from the early build year and bad quality Bulgarian fuel...

Best regards,
Hristo

Wow that sounds ridiculous! I think that you got very unlucky with your car. Mine is an '06 with 55k miles and I have had absolutely no problems with it.
