That's what I did, revved to 3000 RPM and just dumped the clutch. I had my redline bumped up to 8500 by Evolve so I shifted at 8000. I didn't shift until 8500 in third hoping I could get through the entire 1/4 mile in third but had to shift close to the end. If I installed drag radials & practiced with the launch and shift points I'm sure I could get into to the 11's without using the nitrous.
should be able to I got a 12.4 with just a muffler delete.. which some say actually makes you lose power? idk

You can't lose horsepower or torque by eliminating backpressure. When a computer controlled car can compensate to optimize the air to fuel ratio, the least amount of backpressure will ALWAYS create more horsepower. It's nothing but an old wives tale that some backpressure is good. With proper AFR, the best exhaust system would be a straight piece of pipe off of each header collector that measures about 18" long. The best way to determine the proper length would be to put a 3' piece of painted pipe on each collector and where the paint is burned off after runs cut it there. To have a wide band O2 sensor installed would verify optimum AFR.

very nice number. with nitrous should able to do 11.xxx !!!
i just get my vbox today and will post some 0-60 and 1/4mile too.
Without nitrous the car should already be capable of an absolute bottom 12 or possibly high 11 on a day with real nice DA once he gets a sticky set of tires on it and has more seat time. I wouldn't be surprised to see the car go bottom 11's or high 10's on the 150 shot. Wet nitrous hits hard and adds considerably more torque than horsepower which is what the M6 needs. Practice with the new setup will be key to dropping ET's. Hopefully we will see what it will be able to do this fall.

Great times for a first try, you should easily get a low 12s run with some traction, maybe even 11s with some stickky tires. My best is a 12.5 bone stock, check it out below, I believe I have trapped at around 117 too but my time was not as fast. I have an older thread too where my track times were not as fast-for me this car is very difficult to launch consistently, especially if you do not do it often. I lost the urge to take the car to the track, I would hate to damage the axels, I started to get some wheel hop here and there, so I didn't want to risk it. I was able to take my car down the strip close to 100 times without any issues.
Here is the best slip from two runs today at Moroso in West Palm Beach. I launched at even lower RPM than before, and concentrated on not squeezing too much throttle in when I hit second. My car is bone stock except for the carbon filters, and I made no adjustments to air pressure etc. I'm thinking when I tune it via Evolve at the first of the year, then get to other mods, I might be able to punch this thing into the elevens (hopefully). A 12.67 @114mph - I'm not using all it has in its stock form effectively yet.
I drove up there today to check into the driving class they offer on their road course, but old habits are hard to break. This is the most fun and enjoyable car I've ever had.
Wow, great to hear these times. I am ready to go and try it. Have to wait till spring probably. Not sure they will have any more events at our local strip. Although our car isn't necessarily meant for the 1/4 mile, it is still an adrenaline rush!

Like all street cars, the M6 is designed for multi-purpose use. Even automobiles tagged as two-seat Sports cars compromise for comfort, safety etc. So, with this in mind, I picked the M6 because it is good-to-great in most all considerations of a performance car. Quarter mile performance is but one of the many considerations, as is its top-end prowess. Of course, I really love comfort, gadgets, space, exclusivity, etc. All components of the cool equation come together in the M6. The car wasn't designed for any single purpose, but was built to be very good in all.
Your biggest gain will come from dropping that 60ft time. Get it down to 1.7 and you're in the 11s.
Indeed you're correct! I'm thinking the Evolve tune will help the most on the 60 ft (plus lots of practice on launching). The tune should improve throttle response and push some of the torque lower in the rpm range. All the other mods will help trap speed and overall response, but for Improving ET in the 1/4, 60 ft time is the priority.
