Dinan Badge fitment on M6

Do any of you Dinan M6 guys have issues with fitment of the Dinan Badge not being flush against your trunk? The Dinan badge I received does not fit flush against my trunk, and the letters seem slightly loose. I called Dinan and they told me that this is the correct fittment for the badge, and the 3M tape that they use will hold the Dinan letters even though they are not flush against the trunk. But it seems to me that the letter "I" in the Dinan badge could easily be ripped off say when someone is washing the car.

Are you guys getting this also? Here are some photos showing the fitment of my badge:

I saw this as a potential problem before I installed it so I tossed it in the glove box. I prefer the "sleeper" approach anyway...

So the Dinan badge is not supposed to fit flush against the trunk of the BMW M6? Any of you Dinan M6 folks have badges that do fit flush against the trunk?

Those pictures do not look right. It Looks like water and dirt are going to get on the adhesive and they will peel off soon?

I agree with e60driver, that fitment is an invitation for debris to build up behind the letters. Not to mention it simply looks like a screw up.

Yes, I opted to not have mine installed because I didn't like the fitment but it shouldn't weaken it's ability to stay on the car. Regardless if stuff can get back behind the emblem letters, the contact patch has already adhered to the vehicle. It's like putting a suction cup on a window and then pouring dirt and sand all over it -- it will make a mess to clean up but it won't weaken the bond (adhesive), because it's not exposed...

That being said, having to constantly clean behind it could weaken the bond if moved too much or sprayed with a heavy stream of water (but people shouldn't be using a power washer on their beasts anyway -- very bad for the paint).
