BMW M Experience - Lime Rock, CT

I received an email today from BMW saying that they are having an event in the U.S.:


BMW M EXPERIENCE
M5 AT LIME ROCK PARK


Dear M Enthusiast,

We are pleased to announce that BMW Performance Center will host the BMW M Experience Driving Program at one of America's most famous road courses for our customers. BMW has a long history with Lime Rock Park; this setting provides a perfect backdrop to experience the all New M5, M3, and other M Cars on the challenging 1.5 mile circuit. This event will take place October 8th, 9th 10th, and 11th.

A very limited number of seats have been released for this event. The cost is $2500.00 per person/per day.

The agenda:

8:15-8:30 Sign In
8:30-9:15 Intros, vehicle dynamics/ideal racing line talk
9:30-12:00 Morning driving activities: skid pad, corner entry, brake/downshift
1:00-4:00 Full course lapping, timed autocross
4:00-4:20 Instructor hot lap rides
4:30 Wrap up and close

BMW M Experience Lime Rock Park: October 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th

The price for our driving participants: $2500 per person/per day

This event is being hosted by the BMW Performance Center and will be attended by representatives from the BMW Performance Driving School.

That seems very steep! is that the usual price? I went on a Mercedes AMG day which allowed me to drive 15 AMGs round the track all day and it was paid for by them as we by a few Mercs for the business..

Yep, this is usual for BMW M. This is not test driving a few new models in a parking lot (although I'm not sure what the MB events are like).

Fair enough, the MB one I went to was get the for 9am for cooked brekkie, 10 oclock briefing 10:45 go to the hut in the pitlane of the track (croft) choose a car key and get in the care where a professional driver waited to show you how late to leave things where to push etc you got four laps in each broke for lunch at 1 and finished at 4 best day out of had relating to cars ever id say

I've only been to two BMW M events, but they were a blast also.

Per the Performance Center instructors, this is an advanced 1 day M School. They teach skid pad, braking and turning, and other techniques in the morning. The afternoon is lapping in the ///Ms. I signed up for Tues. 10/09. Expensive, but a unique opportunity, at a track I've never been to, plus I'm staying a few extra days to sight see the northeast in the fall.
