That seems very steep! is that the usual price? I went on a Mercedes AMG day which allowed me to drive 15 AMGs round the track all day and it was paid for by them as we by a few Mercs for the business..

Yep, this is usual for BMW M. This is not test driving a few new models in a parking lot (although I'm not sure what the MB events are like).
Fair enough, the MB one I went to was get the for 9am for cooked brekkie, 10 oclock briefing 10:45 go to the hut in the pitlane of the track (croft) choose a car key and get in the care where a professional driver waited to show you how late to leave things where to push etc you got four laps in each broke for lunch at 1 and finished at 4 best day out of had relating to cars ever id say

I've only been to two BMW M events, but they were a blast also.
Per the Performance Center instructors, this is an advanced 1 day M School. They teach skid pad, braking and turning, and other techniques in the morning. The afternoon is lapping in the ///Ms. I signed up for Tues. 10/09. Expensive, but a unique opportunity, at a track I've never been to, plus I'm staying a few extra days to sight see the northeast in the fall.
