Rubbing

Would there be any reason tires reaching the end of their lifecycle would rub the inner rear fenderwells when making sharp turns or do I have a more serious issue? I think I already know the answer

That's weird. Did you recently add spacers or something? Maybe the alignment is out?

I am getting ready to add some tires and spacers, but was trying to figure this out first. Seems to do it more when cold than when hot and I went up under yesterday, but didn't see any obvious signs of rubbing so now I am wondering if it is something mechanical with the rear end.

Do you have anything that is not original on the car? That is usually the culprit of all evils.

If not IME it would be a bad shock absorber.

Differential is a likely cause. Change the differential fluid.
One of many threads about differential noise.

I missed the post about no obvious signs; I would agree 100% with Clyde.

I changed it out and it seems that this was the issue. Thanks much! I still gotta figure out the right search term for most of my issues.....
