I was very angry at my car that day!!!

haha, our 650 is a daily driver for my Wife. On the way to work she was cruising along and a car in front of her swerved over, she couldn't because there was someone in the lane next to her. She hit a pothole on a busy thoroughfare during rush hour traffic and I am confident it was unavoidable. Here are close-ups of the back and front rims. The picture of the front rim I put a piece of mulch in to show the tire cut. Funny thing is my Wife completed her drive to work. I went and picked it up at lunch drove 4 miles back home, back roads and a bit slow since the really bent one in the back was clunking along in a not so good fashion.

The good news is that I have a Road Hazard tire program that also includes rims. There is no deductible. I paid $1000 for a 5 year policy when I bought my car from a local BMW dealer and it is by IAS Warranty company. The front tire was munched and had a tear in the sidewall, the back tire was fine. But both left side rims were toast. So they replaced 1 tire and 2 rims at that time. I have also had two tires replaced for nails under the IAS Warranty along with a repair to one other rim that was bent on the inside. I have to say it was a GREAT program to get. Between that and CPO I have been well covered.

So the $2200 in wheel damage was a very carefree experience for me. If I didn't have the IAS program I would have filed a claim with the city/county since Tampa does provide some type of compensation. But it was not necessary at that point.

Do you know if the E39 M5 spare works for sure on the M6 (clears the front and rare rotors)? Cheers! (Otherwise, since there isnt a donut that works on our beasts I will need to buy a cheap rim and tire combo from tirerack along with a wrench and jack!) GRRR or see if anyone is selling their kits!

I only know what I have read in other forums, I cannot verify myself. I would advise contacting the Bimmerzone folks, they seem to be pretty decent to work with. From what I read the M6 and M5 have the same brakes and therefore the M5 mobility kit will be fine.

If you end up buying the tire yourself you can buy the jack kit with a small bag separately. Pretty expensive at $150 or so, seems you could find a scissor jack somewhere else that is low enough to get under the jack pads.
