It actually doesn't surprise me too much. I've watched the dynamics of the board change over the last two years as the younger members pick up the older models ('06 - '08). Essentially, once sticker drops below about $40-$45k, financing becomes available for younger buyers. Of course, I don't speak for all but I know when I was 20-25, if financing was in reach for a spectacular car like the M5/M6, I would have signed the line without thinking twice.
Fortunately, that deal wasn't available for me, so I was able to avoid being strapped down by huge payments at a young age. In my opinion, part of owning the car of your dreams is not having the stress of massive car payments or repair bills that you really can't afford after said large payments (sort of takes the enjoyment away)...
That being said, congratulations to our young responsible members and their success!
