oil temp... is this hot Pic included

Hey guys,
I know this has been talked about quite a few times, and I did a search and it says around 210 to 215 is normal...
I had my 06 M6 for about a month now and in Atlanta, its getting pretty hot these days(high 80's to 90's)

I was driving on the highways(with rush hour traffic) at around 6PM and noticed my oil temperature had gone past the half way mark.

Is this normal. I was not driving hard or fast since it was rush hour.

Any comments will be greatful

Thanks

As ambient temp gets hotter I notice this too; even when it's very humid it does it.

These bad boys are always Ok until they say they aren't.

Mine gets up that far too, and will hit that next tick mark when I'm out on the track. A few weeks when I was out it was pushing 100 degrees ambient, and a message popped up on the screen showing a picture of a thermometer, and it said high engine temp, drive moderately, which I did. There was another M6 out there with me and a couple of laps later his shut down on the track. He said he got the same warning, but ignored it...lol

However, you might want to modify the underbody tray to make a vent for the oil cooler.

Have a look at the below thread.

Perfectly normal.

I drive my beast very hard all the time. I accelerate hard, I corner hard, I brake hard, I cruise at high RPM (this is where my Tubi Rumore likes to sing) and my oil temp is usually around that area.

You will know if your engine gets hot as you will get a message "Engine Temp High" I believe. Then you just cruise on low RPM on 7th gear and in a few minutes the temp will go back to normal.

Nothing to worry about.

By the way, I noticed you only have 3 bars on your power setting.

I think you should drive your beast always at P500 setting. Fully utilize that 500 horses under the hood.
