There is a difference here. Looking at the specs for the Super Pilot Sport:

Size Rim Width Range Measured Rim Width Overall Diameter Revs per Mile
245/40ZR19 8 - 9.5" 9" 26.7" (678.18mm) 778
295/30ZR19 10" - 11" 10.5" 26" (660.4mm) 799 (-21)

Using the Bridgestone S-04 Pole Postion (only one with all specs), the stock specs are as follows:

Size Rim Width Range Measured Rim Width Overall Diameter Revs per Mile
255/40ZR19 8.5" - 10" 9" 27.1" (688.34mm) 769
285/35ZR19 9.5" - 11" 10" 26.9" (683.26mm) 775 (-6)

Based on the sizes provided there is quite a bit of difference between the front and rear sizes selected for the Super Pilot Sports versus the stock specs for the S-04 Pole Positions.

That seems correct but your width does affect the diameter of the tire slightly so if you were to compare the bridgestones 255 width with the 245 width which is the stock size there might be a difference. That's atleast what I found when I compared the pss tire sizes. Do you know what the stats would be for stock tires to compare them with what you already found. I wouldve got them in my stock sizes but they don't make pss's in that size yet. But its by far a way better tire then stocks you can feel the width of the tire as it grips. Good find btw

As much as I love my black beast I must say that this car looks best in white; yours is simply stunning. Love your work so far and looking forward to following this thread.

I agree that the Super Pilot Sports are a superior tire. I wish that they currently made the 285/35. There were specs missing for the front tires on the Michelin and Continental front tires. The section width (255 or 245) does not vary. However, the tread width is what I believe you are referring to. Most but not all tire manufacturers will provide the specs for the tread width. Some tread width are actually wider on say a stock size as compared to going with a larger section width and smaller profile. It is one of the items I consider when purchasing a tire. I can tell that my Conti's are round so the tread width is a bit more narrow then say the BS S-04 which is squared off with the bead protruding well past the rim seat to protect the wheel. Tire rack is a good place to learn about tires. Not insulting your intelligence mind you. Everything must be considered including the weight the tire is designed for.
