I really like the latest model 528i. Those twin turbo 4 cylinder puts out amazing power for a 4 cylinder and still gets great mileage.
The 2012 528i I had was fully loaded.
I liked the electric trunk, open and close mode is all electric via switch inside the trunk under the hood.
I love the navigation.
I love the wide LCD screen.
Power of the TT 4 is good.
VERY VERY comfortable.
Very quiet ride.
I love the electric folding mirrors and i dont know if that is now standard.
I love the LED angel eyes.
The fit and finish is great.
The only reason my wife dont like it is its because its a big car (my wife has an E46 3 series.)
I hate the automatic engine shut down as i am afraid the car wont restart on a stop light so I turn that feature off all the time.
Overall, I will give BMW a 9 out of 10 for their new 528i.
But once I get back to my M6, whew, the sound and power of the V10 is just unmatched.....all smiles big time again.

Hey Zerocks1! I have a question for you.......... Have you seen any OTHER recall campaigns regarding this bulkhead connector issue? This is why I ask.....
Took my car to the dealer for some service items. When I go to pay the cashier she begins to explain to me what BMW NA will be charged for the recall items. Huh? What? Well, to make a long story short, I informed them that this recall had already been performed last year!
This is what I can glean from the work order:
A recall for battery cable requested
Cause: SIB 61 14 12
0060132 Check the battery cable cover and if necessary refit corre
309 W94
1 each 61-13-9-290-787 COVER POSITIVE BATTERY TERMI: 609999AA
1 each 83-19-2-295-229 CONTACT GREASE KF1
FC: 0061560300
40720 Performed battery cable update as per SIB 611412.
Then I went to speak with my SA. He was swamped, although he did share this with me. He said that he was aware of BOTH recall campaigns, and the second one was to change the COLOR OF THE BULKHEAD or it's TERMINAL COLOR. He couldn't be sure about it, but I'm thinking that the first time around they used a BLACK bulkhead and cover, now changing it up to be a polarity correct color in RED. Your thoughts???

Thanks for your impressions Dan. My wife's 2011 528i has the 3 liter 6 banger, but the 2014 X1 I will take European Delivery of at the Welt in 4 weeks will have the twin turbo 4. During a test drive of an X1, I also found the mouse motor to have surprising power and torque and was smoother than I'd expected. At first blush, it seems like less of an engine compared to BMW's legendary 6 cylinder engines. But with the better fuel economy and essentially the same power it is a really good motor.

The original cover was BLACK, the updated cover is WHITE.
The recall instructions are attached (the pictures do not show the correct white cover).

Mark,
FYI, I had a 2011 528i and now have a 2012 528i (don't ask why but you can guess) so I can really compare the cars. I love the TT engine and I think it's a big improvement over the 6 banger. Al drove it last week and he seemed impressed with it too.
Anyway, the auto shutoff can be defeated via a switch just below the start button. The problem is it always comes up in the auto-shutoff position when you start the car.
Good news is, on the 2012 I coded the engine auto shutoff to remember where it was last, so if it's an issue you can defeat it via some coding.

Good to know that you can code it to remember that previous state. That may have to be my first programming task on the X1 when it shows up in Hawaii in July. Thanks for the tip.
