Full car vinyl wrap

I just visited a shop in San Carlos, CA that does amazing work with full-car vinyl wraps (I'm looking to have one done for my daughter's Mini Cooper). From what I can see, the latest material (3M product) is extremely durable and applies very nicely when done by a good installer. Anyone her have any true-life experience with a full wrap? I'm about to get into it, and I figure if it lasts 3 -4 years I'll be very happy. At that point, we'll probably pull it all off and just stick with the original color. My biggest questions are about dings and scratches that tear the vinyl. Its probably no worse that what I have seen on vinyl decals on my track car...but curious if there are other opinions. BTW, at the shop, they were just completing a full-wrap of a Porsche GT3 in matte Army green. Sounds weird, but it looked absolutely amazing.

The shop I visited is called Vinyl Styles, and their website is:

VINYL STYLES

As their main webpage scrolls through some photos of their work, you'll see a matte green Audi, a matte red 350Z, a matte white Porsche and a matte black BMW, plus more. I'm not looking for a matte color, but I am trying to get a custom color that isn't available from the dealer. Not sure why everyone loves matte, but some of them look quite good. They do gloss work, too.

Thanks! I have seen this wrap many times but for some reason just didn't understand what you meant. I am not overly in love with the matte look but to each their own.

full car wraps is something i recently started doing as my passion for modding extended past my own Beast and onto other peoples cars (for $$ lol).

I recently wrapped a fellow members car over on e60.net in matte white, also painted the trim and redid/installed his orions as well. check out the pics. too bad youre in northern Cali...im relocating from Detroit out to SoCal in the coming weeks and could have hooked you up!

here are some before (black sapphire metallic & some fading trim) and after shoots plus close ups.

Whoa that car is impressive. I have been batting around the idea of getting my M6 wrapped in a matte metallic gunmetal or silver color. How much would you charge for a job like this? Also those angel eyes are beautiful! I need to upgrade mine as well, and recode my LCI vehicle to use them as the standard daytime running lamps. I have no idea who can do this kinda work though as it's not a normal mod.
