I´m very interrested in the backupcamera, just like you have in your car, with the backup camera picture/video and the small picture of the pdc in the top left corner of the screen !!
I have been looking so many places to find it, and now i found someone who has it in the car
The way to get the picture in picture on the backup cam, is via the embedded sw in an aftermarket video module. There are at least two manufacturers, mine is tvandnav2go

www.tvandnav2go.com - Automotive Automobile Video & Navigations - Navigation Systems - Navigation Conversions - Digital Clusters - Navigtion / Video Integration Upgrades - Reverse Camera Integrations - Navigation Integrations - Auto TV - Auto Navigat

There is an option in this module that allows positioning, size, bring forward/back, the picture in picture. The backup cam can be any make or model. I don't recall the brand, but its a very thin cam that attaches to the two top rear license plate screws. The hardest part is running the wires to the module (which I have positioned under the passenger footwell, just above the cardboard covering that a passengers knees rest below). Many have placed it behind the CCC module, just below the CID screen. There is a similar module called modmynav, which many members have used. I'm not certain that module has the same picture in picture option.

There is an old thread here somewhere that I believe was started by whatheheck, which I added my version of the installation. Search for 'backup camera' and you should be able to find it. Here is one old thread on the topic. I believe there is another one. Rear cam discussion starts in post#24

My DVD player mod

I trust this helps

Guy- please post the outcome of your request. I'm also searching for the Carbon Fiber trim- if you can make the purchase, I will possibly do the same.

Mike

Thanks to everyone who has provided information in support of locating and buying the carbon fiber CIC trim.

Mike - WILCO; I'll be sure to let you know when the part arrives. We're in the middle of a move to DC so it may be a week or two.

Best,
Guy

Princevick,

Would those two parts be desired if I'm doing the 6NR install to add USB/Aux to the center console storage area?

Best,
Guy

Did you order from the German company? Where will you be in DC, I'm in that area at least once a month on business.

NCM6Cabrio,

Moving into a place in Springfield. Let me know when you're swinging through and we'll link up or we can have you over to the house for a beer.

I haven't ordered the part yet - doing my due diligence online right now. Will keep you posted.

Best,
Guy

Cabrio,

Just ordered the part from the only source I found that accepted the P/N and seemed reputable. The name is estore-central and I found the part for $377US delivered. Hope this helps you - consider waiting a week until I can verify delivery and quality.

Best,
Guy

Hi Guy,

You definitely need it if you're adding the USB/Audio Aux in centre console. You can check out the pictures from Remi's thread (he has documented the whole thing quite well)
My new M6 from France

Although I have the 2 parts (51169131177 [Base, Cubby Center Console] & 51166951511 [Cable Cover Runway]), you only need 51169131177). Drop me an email: princevick [at] gmail [dot] com. Will send you pics. It's brand new and unused.

Btw, it only fits LHD! Mine is a RHD, hence I had to reorder the correct one (missed by 1 single digit in the p/n!!! )
